Banger and Hot Rod racing from the Tower Grounds Stadium, New Brighton Wirral 1974. My dad filmed this with his Super 8 cine camera. It features what are now considered 'classic cars' banger racing with the badge engineered BMC cars proving to be the most popular. Look out for the Red White and Blue cars of the Invader Team from Liverpool with 513 Stan Woods behind the wheel. The mauve cars are those of the Ellesmere Port Gunners. The Hot Rods are interesting too with Minis and Ford Anglias (driving the yellow Anglia #70 is Neston's Ginger Williams) being the most popular those I do spy a Mk1 Cortina out there too and a Fiat that retires to the infield.
